Dinnaton on the podium on first day of regional Age Group Championships

With 4 swimmers at Millfield today for the Western Counties Age Group Championships it was fantastic to see so many great swims. David Hammond swam a 3s pb in the 400m freestyle to come 5th overall and then went on to another pb in the 100m Backstroke, only narrowly missing the finals in a large field of 11 year olds. William Potter qualified for the finals in the 100m backstroke with a small pb, then went on to finish 6th in the final in 1.11.97, another personal best. Ben Gittins strolled through his 200m breastroke heat to qualify in second place, going on to take gold in the final with a beautifully paced race. Megan Bowen led the field in the final of the 1500m freestyle, finishing in a personal best time of 18.28.32 to take gold on the podium. Whilst we may be a small club, there is no doubting the quality of our swimmers - well done to all four today and good luck for tomorrow!

Dinnaton fight to the finish!

The final of the Cornwall and West Devon League was fiercely fought, a close contest saw Dinnaton come 3rd in the Cornwall and West Devon League overall narrowly beating Kelly College on final points. The final was held at Bodmin Dragons leisure centre on 5th June and every event was highly competitive. Particular note should go to David Hammond in winning two events for his club. Laura Chidgey, a finalist at the ASA South West Youth Championships should take credit for a fantastic win in the womens open breaststroke. Everyone who has swum in the league has contributed to this success and it could not happen without the tremendous support from coaches and team managers.The final positions were as follows:

1^st Truro City, 2^nd Bodmin, 3^rd Dinnaton, 4^th Kelly College, 5^th Newton Abbott, 6^th Kingsbridge Kingfishers

A great result! Well done to everyone who has swum in the league.

I'm sure you agree the new kit looks fantastic? There are still items of the new kit available for immediate purchase - see Adele or Glyn. Items include hoodies, t shirts, gym shorts and smock tops.

The next order date is 8th July for delivery in early October.
